Technical Services Department
The Computer Center Service Department offers an in house repair service for most
major brands of equipment sold through the Computer Center. Our repair facilities are for
UI Departments or for equipment sold by the Computer Center through the MOC program to students,
staff and faculty. See below for specifics on individual vendors.
- APPLE--Authorized repair center for ALL Apple Personal Computers,
Laptops and Imaging Products. Most repairs are done in house. Check
the Apple Technical Information
Library for technical articles from Apple.
- IBM--Authorized repair center for ALL IBM Personal Computers and
Laptops. Most repairs are done in house.
- DELL--Authorized repair center for Dell Computers. Warranty and Out-of-Warranty
repairs can be completed by the Computer Center.
- HEWLETT PACKARD--Authorized repair center for HP Laser Products (LJ
4SI/MX service is on-site direct from HP). Most repairs are done in house. HP Inkjet
Products are returned to HP Service for repair (HP does not authorize dealers for repair).
The HP 1200CPS (Inkjet) is serviced by HP on-site.
NOTE: We service
HP Laserjet products in shop because most require major teardown and cleaning which is
not always advisable or possible on-site.
- LEXMARK--Authorized on warranty repair for some products. Out-of-warranty
repair on most printers.
- EPSON--Authorized on warranty repair for most Epson Inkjet Printers.
Most other brands of Computer Equipment sold through the Computer Center must be
returned to the original vendor for warranty service. Out-of-warranty service can be
performed on some equipment. Please check with a service technician (244-0139) for
more information.
If you have a piece of computer equipment you want picked up for repair, click on
Repair Pickup. Free pick up and delivery is available for
departmental customers and students in resident halls.
